Day 3,4,5,6 & 7: Generosity is in the air!

Day 3,4,5,6 & 7!

Sorry to not updating, I've been away on a holiday to Sydney and to Newcastle to visit some friends and see my extended family, and iPhone wont let me update from there... never the less I had an incredible time and there was one this thing (I know its cheating) that stood out for me to be thankful for!

That was the spirit of GENEROSITY. As I mentioned before, I went up north back to my home town to have a break, and to learn some new things. I experienced, and witnessed something that I actually blew me away.

I stayed at my friends place with his family for a number of days, and there generosity to let me stay, give up there beds, provide food, all because they have a big spirit of generosity. BUT it got better!

I then took my friend up north to Newcastle, where my mums side of the family is from, and where I spent the first few years of my life. We stayed at my Nana's place after we got there, and she went and stayed somewhere else just so we could have a a holiday, and then to my surprise she offered her place up to my friend to "come up anytime, if you wanna study, or come up for a break, you can come up, have my place and enjoy the beach".

AND THEN, we went off to my pop's, and caught up with him, had lunch and he ALSO, offered his house to my friend if he needed anything...

The thing that got me most (yes there family and I understand where I get alot of who I am from) was that my friend was A COMPLETE STRANGER TO THEM, they'd never met him, never talked to him, yet were so willing to open there house, inconvenience there lives, just to be a help to someone else!

Humanity itself is obsessed with its own person. Everyone is doing there own thing, FOR THEM. I see the act of generosity a lot more in the older generations, they are more willing to share and are more willing to help someone else out, even if it puts them out.

So these past few days, I'm incredibly thankful for the generosity from people around me, and for the generosity that we as humanity, should tap into more.

Day 2: Bring on the Diversity!

For so long I've lived in a world where everyone had to be the same.
Act the same, do the same things, follow the same ideas... tonight however changed my views.

As I sat watching a friend tonight, I realized that there is more diversity in the world than what we give credit for!

Who is to say we can't be who we want?
Why should society dictate, or people dictate to us what "Normal" is...

Today, I want to encourage you, Be PROUD to be YOU!

Diversity brings strength, it brings new ideas, new things!

Every new idea, of any century in the history of humanity, has come from someone standing up, and being DIFFERENT to what the "Norm" was!

So today, I'm thankful for diversity, the world wouldn't be the same without variety!

Day 1: Saying No, Isn't such a bad thing...

Day 1: Saying No, isn't such a bad thing...

Have you ever been in a situation where you've felt so obliged to say yes, even though you really have no desire to do the thing that someone else wants you to do??.... Saying NO sometimes, isn't such a bad thing.

The word "NO" has such power in it, yet too often, we just go ahead and do things that to us, are just either wrong, or we have think we have no choice.

It can also work on our end, when someone says NO to us, we are forced to (whether we want to or not) do something!.

Albert Einstein once said "I'm thankful to all those who said NO, because of them, I had to do it myself". Sometimes, the word NO can be an opportunity for us to shine, to become our own person, to think outside of the box, and become a better person. When we are faced with a situation, and everyone around us doesn't understand, or refuses to help, By them saying no it leads to us being able to say YES!

So today, I'm thankful for the brilliant and two edged word NO!

What are you thankful for?

Introduction

Today is the first day of 2013, and already there is an air of expectancy, and an air of a new season. Maybe that's just me, but I find myself hoping that this year is better than the last.

For too long, we've taken social media and used it as a tool for destruction. Creating chaos within people's relationships, friendships and networks. My proposal for this year, is to be thankful for the things that we do have, to the people in our lives that create us into better people, and be genuine about it!.

So here is my proposal: For the rest of this year (all 365 days for this year), celebrate being thankful for the things that make our lives better. I'm choosing to take to social networks and voice what I'm thankful for, and I would love to hear what you are thankful for, so feel free to post to this comment, share the link on your Facebook, Twitter, Tumbler, Instagram, etc :).

Lets be the revolution.

Josh
